Price Checker
You can save money with mySupermarket either in your chosen supermarket, or in the alternative supermarket. You decide whether to accept similar products that are equal in quality but lower in price.
To use Price Checker
- In the Price Checker panel, click on the red button to view the swaps which we suggest to save money on your shopping. The total potential savings are highlighted at the top of the page.
The items which you originally chose are listed on the left highlighted in yellow.
- Each of the suggested products will be labelled, clearly showing you how much
you'll save by swapping.
- Click Swap to select an item. A tick will appear with a message You Saved: £X.XX.
- If you change your mind, click on Cancel Swap to undo and return to your original item.
- Click the Return to Trolley Checker button to return to Trolley Checker.
How do we calculate your price savings when you swap items?
We multiply the difference in price per 100g by the total weight of the item. E.g. If the difference between
two 500ml drinks was 10p/100g, your total saving will be 50p. If the two products differ in price, we
calculate the total savings based on the weight of the replacement item. Each of the suggested products clearly
show how much can be saved by swapping.
When you return to the Trolley Checker page the total price of your supermarket trolley will be adjusted to account for your savings.
