Description

Our Basmati rice is grown on the lower plains of the Himalayas in the Terai region that borders Nepal and India. Silt and nutrients in the waters of the upper Ganges river help maintain the natural morertility of the soil.
The farming community has chosen to farm the soil organically because of the benefits it brings to them and the environment.
Additionally, Crazy Jack has chosen Fairtrade certified rice that independently guarantees the farmers a better price for their rice and ensures contributions are nominated to local community projects for the benefit of all.
By definition these communities are poor but the rice they grow is of excellent quality. Choosing this rice directly aids farmers like Sheshraj Singh, his family and the communities where it has come from. Buying this pack also means you like us, are crazy about food and serious about the planet.
