  • Ideal for cakes and biscuits Suitable for sponges, light cakes, scones, suet pastry, teabreads and biscuits Be-Ro™ have been providing high quality flour for over 100 years. Milled from carefully selected wheats, Be-Ro flours help you achieve delicious results every time you bake. Be-Ro™ In 1880, amongst the most popular products that Thomas Bell sold from his grocery business in the centre of Newcastle was Bells Royal Self Raising Flour, a novelty at the time. Following the death of Edward VII it became illegal to use the Royal name & so this popular baking flour was renamed Be-Ro. To show the nation the quality & variety of home baking possible with Be-Ro Plain & Self Raising Flours, Thomas held a series of exhibitions where he sold freshly baked products for a shilling to visitors. These were so popular that people demanded that they had copies of the recipes so that they could bake the dishes at home. In 1923 the first Be-Ro book was published, it soon became an essential part of running a home & feeding a family. For over one hundred years our little book of baking has offered inspiration to experts and baking beginners alike. It not only offers great advice but delicious recipes that can be shared and loved by all. Books cost £2.50 including P&P. UK addresses only. Cheques or postal orders should be made payable to "Be-Ro Baking Recipe book". No cash, please. Send your payment, name and address to: The Be-Ro Kitchen, PO Box 100, Blackburn, Lancs, BB0 1GR. • Organic Organic Ideal for deliciously light homemade cakes, this fine white flour is milled from soft and hard wheat grains, with added raising agents. At Doves Farm we make biscuits, cookies and a large range of bread, cake and speciality flours 'We are passionate about home baking and also believe that what we eat today will effect our health tomorrow. As well as being a satisfying and rewarding activity, when you bake at home you can select the best quality, local and seasonal ingredients, and be certain of what has gone into your food. You and your family will enjoy great tasting home made food. We often double the recipe and when baked, freeze half to eat at a later date. 'In our mill we make a large range of flours from many different natural grains, beans & seeds without adding refined gluten or enzymes. We blend specific grain varieties to ensure that the resulting flour has the optimum characteristic for the type of baking it will be used for. This means soft wheat varieties for cakes, pastry and sauces or stronger hard wheat for bread making flours. The more unusual flours have distinctive characters and applications of their own. If you are on a special diet look out for those flours that suit your situation. 'We set up Doves Farm Foods to mill the organic grain we grow on our farm. As organic farmers, and like colleagues around the world, we follow international organic rules and are pleased that the standards do not permit genetic engineering. We rotate crops, grassland and livestock to develop natural soil fertility and to help wildlife conservation.' Clare & Michael, Doves Farm

Description

Resealable Easy to store Less mess Stays fresh For half a century I've been chief flour grader at Homepride Flour, helping Great Britain's great bakers! Homepride has always been about making great British food with great flour, and over the years our recipe books have inspired generations of Britons to get baking! Tastes change, but my flour never will... Since I first started grading flour, our packs have had a nip & tuck or two but thankfully I've managed to stay as handsome as when I made my first TV appearance back in 1964. I became something of a star back then and launched my own range of collectables for all my fans. You can still get your hands on these - and some exclusive limited editions especially for my 50th birthday - if you log on to my new fangled website. Fred
