  • Aged in oak for 16 years Non-chill filtered Product of Scotland Single malt scotch whisky An initial big malt flavour that commands a pause, revealing a silky rich naturally sweet and quietly complex character. Longmorn is the hidden jewel of Speyside, for many years a malt known only to distillers and connoisseurs. Like the rolling landscape of the Laich of Moray, this is a whisky of subtlety and of delicate, constantly changing shades. Built on the place of the Holy Man and named after St Marnoch, the Longmorn distillery has sheltered its secret since 1894. Against all adversity, it has been guarded and kept alive by generations of whisky lovers.

  • Worlds most awarded single malt Scotch whisky A rich, complex Glenfiddich single malt Scotch whisky, matured in oak casks previously used to age fine Madeira wine. It has aromas of ripe figs, caramelised fruit & spicy notes of cinnamon & black pepper. This rich and delicious nineteen year old Glenfiddich Single Malt Scotch Whisky has been matured in oak casks previously used to age fine Madeira Wine. The majority of the Madeira casks came from the Canteiro warehouses of Henrique & Henrique, a famous family-owned Madeira Company established in 1850. This is where the casks were first used to mature wine made from luscious Tinta Negra Mole grapes before being transported to The Glenfiddich Distillery. Brian Kinsman, the Glenfiddich Malt Master and only the sixth in our history since the Distillery was built in 1886, has personally selected the Glenfiddich Scotch Whiskies used to create this exclusive Glenfiddich Madeira Cask Finish and the first in our Glenfiddich Age of Discovery range. Tasting Notes Nose: A deep earthy aroma of sweet ripe figs and orange marmalade form a backdrop to bright notes of fresh gooseberries and grapes ripening on the vine. Taste: Rich and spicy, cinnamon and crushed black pepper rest on a base of deep earthy notes, caramelised fruits, crystallised ginger, raisins and hints of dry oak. The texture is satisfying, silky smooth - almost oily. Finish: Pleasingly dry with warmth that fades into a lingering sweet marmalade finish. Madeira is a fortified wine made from local grape varieties. It undergoes a unique heating process known as Estafugem, and is then filled into oak casks and matured in traditional Canteiro warehouses designed to capture the heat of the sun - warming the casks to produce a remarkably rich, intensely complex wine. This heating gives the wine extraordinary 'keeping' qualities and it is unaffected by arduous sea voyages. This made Madeira the wine of choice during the seventeenth, eighteenth and nineteenth centuries when it was carried on sailing and steam ships all over the world. It was used to toast the American Declaration of Independence. The Age of Discovery The islands of Porto Santo and Madeira were discovered in 1419 by Portuguese explorers sailing down the uncharted west coast of Africa searching for the sea passage to India. The islands together with the Azores became vital ports supplying ships with food and water for their extraordinary pioneering sea voyages - launching the 'age of discovery'. Questing for a sea route to India, Portuguese explorers continued south, discovering Brazil as they sailed between the Coasts of Africa and South America. In 1488 Bartolomeu Dias rounded the Cape of Good Hope. The route to India was now open and in 1498 Vasco Da Gama landed in Calicut on the beautiful West Coast of India. Portuguese sailors pioneered the sea routes from Europe to Thailand and Malaysia, established the city of Macao in China, gave Taiwan the name ilha Formosa (Beautiful Island) and started trading with Japan - founding the city of Nagaski. These and many other discoveries revolutionised our understanding of the world and the pioneering spirit of those early adventures has stayed with us across the centuries. In 1886, William Grant and his family set out to fulfil a lifelong ambition. Together, and with true pioneering spirit, they built The Glenfiddich Distillery by hand. This was the realisation of a dream and the start of a new adventure. On Christmas Day in 1887 the first whisky flowed from the stills at The Glenfiddich Distillery. Over 120 years later Glenfiddich remains family - owned and Glenfiddich has become the world's most awarded single malt - William Grant's pioneering spirit lives on.
